Financial Settlements in Divorce – Matrimonial Finances Solicitors Ingatestone
Financial issues are often the most complex part of a divorce or separation. We provide expert advice on how you can reach a fair financial settlement with your spouse.
Our team is highly experienced in dealing with a wide range of financial assets, including:
- Property and real estate
- Business assets and company shares
- Pensions and investments
- Spousal maintenance and ongoing financial support
We can also support you in negotiation, mediation, or through financial remedy proceedings in court, depending on your needs.
Civil Partnerships
We provide comprehensive legal support for civil partners, including advice on:
- Civil partnership dissolution
- Financial arrangements
- Property rights
- Child arrangements (if applicable)
Our divorce solicitors in Ingatestone will ensure you understand your legal position and help protect your interests during and after the breakdown of your civil relationship.
Cohabitation Agreements & Disputes
With more couples choosing to live together without marrying, it’s crucial to understand your legal position. Cohabiting couples do not have the same legal rights as married couples or civil partners.
We can help you:
- Draft a clear, legally sound Cohabitation Agreement to protect your financial and legal interests
- Set out how household expenses and assets will be managed during your relationship
- Plan for how assets will be divided if the relationship ends
If disputes arise—for example, over the ownership of a property, or how proceeds from a sale should be divided—we can assist with TOLATA applications (under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996). The court will review the evidence and determine who owns the property, and who is entitled to remain in it after a relationship breakdown.
